Documents and editing

PDFs, images, filenames, previews and document text are processed in your browser. We do not upload them to a document-processing server. The editor is isolated on a separate origin from the public website and does not send document data to this page.

Storage and downloads

In the main PDF editor, documents stay in browser memory for the current session. Download your work before refreshing or leaving. The main PDF editor does not save document history in browser storage.

The embedded LightCraft photo editor uses a temporary session. Its full-screen app can keep a photo library in browser storage on your device. Browser storage may be cleared; keep your originals and export or back up your work.

Website requests and analytics

Cloudflare hosts the website and receives ordinary website requests, including IP addresses. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures public-site visits using page paths, referring sites, broad location, browser and device categories, and performance timings. Cloudflare says its Web Analytics service does not collect visitors’ personal data. Google AdSense code also loads on public pages to connect the site and request review; Google may receive IP addresses, browser/device information and page context. Neither analytics nor advertising code is included in the PDF editor. Local document processing does not make visiting the website anonymous.

Advertising and privacy choices

PDFSpruce uses Google AdSense. AdSense may use cookies or similar identifiers and page context to review the site, select and measure ads, and prevent fraud. Ad scripts run only on the public website and cannot read documents in the editor. Ads will not appear until Google marks the site ready. Google’s privacy messages collect consent or opt-out choices where applicable. The published U.S. state message provides a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” choice in supported states. Google automatically adds its consent-revocation link where the European regulations message applies. Visit Google Ad Settings for controls over ad personalization, and read Google’s Privacy Policy.

Metadata removal is not redaction

Clearing metadata removes document properties and XMP metadata. Names, text, images and other identifying content can remain on the pages. Review exported documents before sharing them.
