How to fill PDF forms without uploading them
To fill a standard PDF form, open it in PDFSpruce, choose Edit PDF, and use the Forms tab. For a flat page without fields, add answers with the text tool. Export saves the visible answers and flattens interactive fields, so keep the original form.
Some PDFs contain interactive fields; others are simply a picture of a form. PDFSpruce supports standard form fields and lets you add text to pages without fields.

- Choose your PDF, open Edit PDF and select the Forms tab to see the supported fields.
- Fill the available fields. If the page has no form fields, use the text tool to place answers on the page instead. Use the signature tools only if a visual signature meets the recipient’s requirements.
- Return to Organize pages and export. Open the downloaded file to check that all answers fit and that no required fields were missed.
Before you export
Standard forms are flattened on export: the visible answers are kept, but the fields are no longer interactive. XFA and already signed or encrypted PDFs are not supported. Keep the original if you need an editable form later.
A useful tip
Long answers can overflow a small field. Review the exported result at a readable zoom level, especially names, dates and multiline responses.
Where are my files processed?
Your documents stay in your browser’s memory. PDFSpruce does not upload your PDFs, filenames, previews or document text. Download your finished work before closing or refreshing the editor. See our privacy information for details about website requests.
